Chick in a Blanket

April 7, 2018 by Janie | Naughty Kitchen 5 Comments

Tuck this Chick in with a warm blanket. Then, you’ll want to cuddle with a Chick in a Blanket!

I have been wanting to experiment with crescent rolls.  I have seen many food bloggers creating fabulous recipes for appetizers.  So what the hella was I waiting for?!  Actually, I was waiting on my Amazon order for a Silicone Baking Mat.  I was spending so much on parchment papers and aluminum foils that made me resort to going to the cheap a$$ Dollar Stores.  Oh TOOTz! I know I’m late on the baking game but let me tell you that buying a Silicone Baking Mat was a budget life saver!

Chick in a Blanket

Anyway while I was doing groceries at Trader Joe’s, I grabbed one can of crescent rolls.  It was just to experiment with some fake chicken strips that I had in the freezer.  My chicks were getting lonely and needed a blanket to keep them warm. LOL!  I still had a few Sweet Baby Bell Peppers left over and would taste damn good sauteed with garlic and onion bits.

I use a lot of vegan and vegetarian items in my recipes. You can substitute a few items with this recipe.  If you’re a meat eating glutton, use real chicken strips; use regular butter instead of vegan butter; and if you don’t like Sweet Baby Bell Peppers like me but eat them anyway, use your favorite vegetable.  But try making my recipe for once! winks

I like this take on the traditional pig in a blanket recipe.. those are a classic! Sounds like a fun recipe to create, too.
