OVERVIEW

Honey Glazed Salmon Over Pancit Canton-Naughty Kitchen-OV

How about having a slab of sweet salmon with noodles instead of rice?  I have got you covered here!

Sometimes the rice game gets a little boring and you want other carb. Noodles can solve your problem.  It so happened that I had a package of Filipino noodles laying around.  I had no cooked rice at the time.  I’m not a rice eating person either!

Then a thought happened – Honey Glazed Salmon over Pancit Canton!

WHAT IS PANCIT CANTON?

Pancit Canton Package

Pancit Canton is a Filipino stir-fried noodles made from wheat-flour egg noodles. Many Filipinos add chicken, pork, beef, and vegetables to cook the noodles with. You’ll always see Pancit in Filipino gatherings.

My momzy likes having any type of Pancit during birthday celebrations because it symbolizes “Long Life”.

But in this recipe, I’ll be adding salmon! Just a noodle craving celebration!

BREAKDOWN

  • SALMON FILETS – Cut into 1 inch chunks.
  • HONEY
  • SRIRACHA – If you want a flavorful spicy kick.
  • COCONUT AMINOS – A sweeter substitute for soy sauce.
  • DIJON MUSTARD – Yes, more tangy flavor.
  • THE OG POWDERS – Onion and garlic powders.
  • NOODLES – I used Pancit Canton. You can find these noodles in some Asian grocery stores. If not, use any rice noodles, spaghetti, angel hair, or ramen noodles.
  • BROCCOLI – Fresh is better but I used frozen.
  • BROCCOLI SLAW – I had half a bag left so I added it in. Just add more of your favorite veggies.

HOW TO MAKE THE HONEY GLAZED SALMON WITH NOODLES

HOW TO MAKE HONEY GLAZED SALMON WITH NOODLES

THE HONEY GLAZE MARINADE

In a mixing bowl, add together your salmon chunks, honey, sriracha, coconut aminos, garlic powder, and onion powder.  Marinate for 30 minutes.

AIR FRY THE SALMON

If you want to air fry the salmon, preheat your air fryer at 400F for 2-3 minutes.  Spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place the salmon chunks on the air fryer basket.  Spray the tops of the salmon again.

Air fry for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through. Please note that timing will depend on how thick the salmon chunks are. Just keep an eye on them!

I like mines a little toasty on the edges.

BAKE THE SALMON

Preheat the oven at 350F.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Bake salmon for 20-25 minutes until you can flake it with a fork.

FOR THE NOODLES

Place a wok or a deep pan on medium high heat.  Gently pour the veggie broth in, then coconut aminos, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Next, add the noodles. Simmer the noodles until the liquid disolves into the noodles.  Should be around 10 minutes. (Your noodles should be tender and not hard.)

Turn down the heat to medium. Add your veggies of choice. I added broccoli and broccoli slaw. Simmer for another 5 minutes or until your veggies are tender.

I added fresh chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top with a teaspoon of chili oil.

Wow, this looks absolutely delicious! If I have someone in the house who can’t eat garlic, is it ok to just omit the garlic powder, or do you have a good substitute?

Yes you can disregard the garlic powder or you can use Fody Lowfodmap or FODMAP garlic replacer. Hope this helps Andrea!
